• Chemo certification preferred
• Proficient with standard Microsoft programs and web browsers
• Ability to analyze and solve problems in a systematic manner
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Strong patient communication and education skills
• Cultural sensitivity and comfort with diverse populations

Description :

Seeking candidates with a cancer care background and clinical trial experience.

The Clinical Research Nurse II will report directly to the Medical Director and the Administrative Director.

The CRN II is primarily responsible for performing clinical and patient-facing tasks for patients involved in studies.

The nurse will collaborate with providers to identify potentially eligible patients for open clinical trials.

They will meet with potential research subjects to review consent forms and discuss trial requirements.

The CRN II will see patients during required study visits and ensure compliance with study requirements.

This position involves spending the majority of time in the clinic seeing active study patients.

The Clinical Research Nurse is expected to follow and evaluate 4-6 patients per day, four days a week.

Administrative responsibilities include assisting principal investigators with clinical trial protocol review and development.

The nurse will collaborate on the quality assurance of clinical trials in developing protocol-specific materials.

They will assist with the recruitment and registration of patients for clinical trials.

The CRN II will coordinate scheduling of laboratory and radiographic assessments, admissions, and clinic visits.

They will monitor test results and coordinate with clinical research coordinators.

Clinical duties involve coordinating study enrollment, protocol treatment, and completion of study requirements.

The nurse will provide protocol education to patients and families while adapting interactions based on diverse needs.

They will complete orders for required specimens and monitor test results as appropriate.

The CRN II will document in charts and communicate observations to protocol investigators and attending physicians.

Monitoring patient care needs and ensuring patient safety is a priority.

The nurse will maintain clinical practice that is evidence-based and consistent with nursing policies and professional standards.

Professional development is encouraged, including active membership in professional organizations and participation in committees.

The CRN II is expected to collaborate on preparing professional reports and presentations for colleagues.
