We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to provide technical support and engineering expertise for the Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS) and Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG) programs.
The successful candidate will support the development, evaluation, and maintenance of the EMALS / AAG System to ensure the systems' reliability, maintainability, and readiness in a shipboard operational environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide engineering support for EMALS / AAG mechanical systems across their lifecycle, including design review, installation, operation, and maintenance.
- Develop, review, and update Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRCs) in accordance with Navy maintenance standards and technical documentation.
- Interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and OEM data to create accurate maintenance procedures.
- Collaborate with ILS and logistics teams to ensure technical data supports shipboard maintenance activities.
- Support Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) related to system failures or performance issues.
- Participate in shipboard assessments, testing, and validation of mechanical systems and procedures.
- Review and resolve Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and Technical Feedback Reports (TFBRs).
- Engage with cross-functional teams including software, electrical, and control systems engineering to ensure full-system integration and supportability.
- Prepare technical reports, briefings, and recommendations for internal stakeholders and government customers.
Basic Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. 3+ years of experience in mechanical systems engineering or maintenance support.General Tools Experience Experience with Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRCs), Preventive Maintenance Service (PMS), technical manuals, or ILS documentation.Strong understanding of mechanical systems such as hydraulics, pneumatics, rotating machinery, or electromagnetic systems.Proficiency with interpreting mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.Familiarity with Navy maintenance processes, NAVSEA standards, or shipboard systems.U.S.Citizenship required with the ability to obtain a security clearance.Preferred Qualifications :
