Position Overview
Job Title : Nurse Manager (For locals $100 PER Hour)
Facility : Mount Sinai Health System
Location : New York, NY 10019
Start Date : 09 / 29 / 2025
Duration : 13 weeks contract (with possible extension )
Hours : 37.5 hours / week | 7.5 hours / day | 5 days / week
Shift : 7 : 00 AM – 3 : 00 PM (including weekends as needed)
Schedule Notes :
- Must have prior experience with addictions population (specialty requirement)
- MSN required
- Travel nursing leadership experience required
Must-Have Requirements
Education & Licensure :
BSN required (Bachelor of Science in Nursing)MSN required (Master’s in Nursing or health-related field)Active New York State RN license with current registrationExperience :
3–5 years nursing clinical care with charge nurse or supervisory experience (preferred)Relevant clinical competence in assigned specialtyLeadership experience in patient care services , preferably in addiction treatment or behavioral health settingsPrior travel experience in a leadership / management capacity (required)Key Job Duties
Patient Care & Experience :
Lead nursing practice using Mount Sinai’s Relationship Centered Care model and Modified Primary Nursing delivery modelEnsure integration of Purposeful Hourly Rounding (PHR) into daily clinical practice; validate staff compliance through observation and feedbackConduct daily patient rounding (Mon–Fri) and follow up on patient concerns with appropriate service recoveryFacilitate patient-centered care practices (Admission Welcome, Bedside Shift Report, Medication Review, Discharge Wrap Up, etc.)Lead shift huddles, identify high-risk patients, and communicate with leadership on escalated concernsPromote respect, compassion, and active listening in all patient and family interactionsQuality, Safety & Compliance :
Create and maintain a safe, efficient, patient-centered care environmentLead RCA (Root Cause Analysis) investigations and corrective action plans for safety / quality concernsFoster a just culture encouraging error and near-miss reportingLead quality improvement initiatives and interdisciplinary teams aligned with high reliability principlesEnsure compliance with institutional safety, quality, and documentation standardsMonitor staff competencies, mandatory training, and regulatory complianceLeadership & Staff Engagement :
Provide consistent, meaningful feedback and coaching to nursing staffInterpret patient experience data and share progress with staff to drive improvementsEmpower staff to apply evidence-based practices and enhance patient perceptions of careCollaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize care deliverySupervise, mentor, and develop staff, reinforcing Mount Sinai’s professional practice standards
