Description :

Perform duties to pick up and transport laundry and meals for the Lewis Center; to pick up and transport applicants and residents when needed; contribute to the mission of Goodwill by portraying a positive image of the organization, within the limitations of standard methods and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

• Work from policies, standards, and instructions, vehicle inspection lists, driver logs and other similar documentation.
• Pick up and load food carts and laundry on to box truck and secure load to avoid shifting or damage in transit. Document information, provide for count of materials as required.
• Drive to designated locations in compliance with all defined regulations.
• Transport program participants in van to and from the Shelter and HRC Center. Provide transportation to activities or appointments as instructed.
• Follow defined schedules to perform periodic vehicle inspections in accordance with procedures. Document inspection and report the need for repairs. Perform routine maintenance operations on vehicles as needed and fuel vehicles as assigned, record fueling data on receipts and make and submit copies in keeping with prescribed procedures.
• Make certain truck and loading areas are clean and orderly.
• Maintain valid State of Florida driver’s license.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED :

Forklift, hand truck, pallet jack, ladder, equipment lift, hydraulic lift gate, box truck, van and similar equipment, and required personal protective equipment and clothing.
