Responsibilities Position is in the Med / Surg Telemetry unit of a tertiary care hospital Patient population includes medicine, orthopedic overflow, and complex long term care cases Typical patient ratio is 1 : 5 to 1 : 7 for Med / Surg patients Responsibilities include telemetry monitoring, ortho trauma, post-surgical care, and complex medical patients Must float to other units as required Works 3x12 hour day shifts from 7 : 00 to 19 : 00 Weekend shifts are required every other weekend Uses Epic for electronic charting and documentation Will manage care of complex and orthopedic patients, including post total joint replacements and surgical drains Involves care for tracheostomies, feeding tubes, high flow nasal cannula, oxygen therapies, and implementing isolation precautions Navy scrub bottoms and navy or white scrub tops are required All candidates must submit for approval any RTO during application Must provide two professional references from a supervisor within the past two years Return staff must wait one year before being eligible for this assignment Modules must be completed pre-start and time spent is partially billable up to five hours Requirements Active NY RN license in hand is required for consideration Minimum of 2 years RN experience, including prior charge experience Current BLS certification required Proficiency in Med / Surg Telemetry skills such as telemetry monitoring, pacemaker management, rapid response / code team participation, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, blood product administration, and wound care Must be proficient in Epic EMR Must have experience managing a patient ratio of 1 : 6 or similar Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID 3021900.
