Through its merger with Oil Search, Santos acquired and assumed operatorship over a world-class portfolio of oil leases on the Alaskan North Slope, USA.

Santos' focus in Alaska is the advancement of our Pikka Phase 1 project, which includes a single drill site, an oil processing facility, and other infrastructure to support production of 80,000 barrels of oil per day.

Pikka has been identified as being among the top quartile of oil and gas development projects for greenhouse gas emissions performance. Pikka is poised to play an important role in the energy transition and is aligned with our company goal of managing climate change risk. The project is on track to be ready for first oil in 2026.

The Pikka Unit is one of the largest conventional oil discoveries made in the United States in the last 30 years, and the Pikka Phase 1 Project is the most significant development on Alaska's North Slope in more than 20 years.

The permitted Pikka development project includes two additional drill sites. The Alaska assets also include discoveries made from both the Mitquq and Stirrup exploration wells drilled in 2020. These opportunities combine to offer a clear path to long-term growth in Alaska.

The Tax Advisor is responsible for actively managing Oil Search Alaska's portfolio of advisory, compliance, and risk management activities related to royalties and excise tax types through the provision of accurate, timely, and commercially effective advice and project execution in the USA. This primarily includes Alaska state oil and gas royalties, landowner royalties, private royalties, and motor fuel taxes. This role :

• Is responsible for preparation of the monthly and revised royalty filings (e.g. State of Alaska, private landowner, and overriding royalty interest holders) for Alaskan operations. Coordinate payment of royalties
• Seeks out and resolves royalty and excise tax issues that impact the Alaska Business Unit through the provision of commercially actionable solutions within the requirement of the law and the business needs.
• Prepare quarterly and annual motor fuel refund filings (e.g. State of Alaska and Federal Government). Requires research into current and historical fuel purchases and coordination with Supply Chain.
• Actively supports all audits related to compliance obligations.
• Proactively engages with joint venture partners, state and federal agencies to develop transparent and mutually beneficial relationships.
• Directs financial systems and processes that support royalty and excise tax compliance, reporting and audit in the Alaskan Business Unit.
• Assist with the design, implementation, and integration of new tax and royalty systems and processes. This includes both SAP PRA (Production Revenue Accounting) module and Tax and Royalty Dashboard.
• Assist with transparency reporting, including preparation and review of tax estimate calculations for reporting periods.
• Identify and assist with tax and royalty function improvements and team initiatives in Alaska and Global Tax team.
• Provides training and support across business units to accurately capture royalty and excise tax related data, identify and manage royalty and excise tax risks and deliver timely royalty and excise tax compliance.
• Identifies and implements process improvements in relation to royalty and excise tax advisory, risk management and compliance across the Alaskan Business Unit and corporate support services. Complies will all company processes and requirements.
• Compliance with the Santos Management System (SMS).
• Compliance with the Santos Delegation of Authority (DOA).
• Compliance with the Santos Corporate Governance and Safety requirements.
