Job Summary

Farmers Group (Woodland Hills, CA) seeks a Senior Data Engineer responsible for acquiring, curating, and publishing data both on prem and in the cloud for analytical or operational uses. Specific responsibilities include : ensure the data is in a ready-to-use form that creates a single version of the truth across all data consumers, including business / technology users, reporting and visualization specialists and data scientists with coaching and support; independently lead the design, development, and implementation of complex data projects, including data models, pipelines, and API integrations, while adhering to data governance guidelines and architectural principles. Option to work remotely.

Position requires Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, or a closely related field of study, plus 5 years of experience in the job offered, or as a Data Analyst, MSBI Developer, ETL Developer, or similar position responsible for acquiring, curating, and publishing data. Must have 2 years of experience with each of the following : working in SQL and ETL development, including MSBI platform; using Microsoft Business Intelligence (MSBI) Platform and SSIS; using MS Power BI and Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) for reporting and data visualization; working with database technologies that includes data design and data modeling using SQL Server; and gathering business requirements understanding the end user needs and documentation specifications to provide work breakdown. Must also have experience working in the insurance industry. Option to work remotely.
