Overview
We are seeking a Wastewater Operator for assignment in Tucson, Arizona. The selected candidate will perform a variety of tasks in the operations and maintenance of a central utility plant and / or water / wastewater treatment plant on an assigned shift.
Hours are Monday - Friday, 7 : 00am - 3 : 30pm
- This position has a pay rate of $23 - $26 / hr
Responsibilities
Diagnoses operating problems; directs and performs necessary corrective action during work shiftConducts preventive maintenance on Central Utility Plant and / or Water / Wastewater Treatment Plant systems to ensure the integrity and reliability of the utility distribution and / or treatment systemsReads gauges and meters, starts and stops equipment, and operates valves to route and control flow, makes process control adjustments, determines and sets proper chemical dosage and flow rates, and operates PLCs and SCADA systemsComplies and reports non-compliance with client Project Policies and ProceduresPrepares required reports and maintains complete record keeping proceduresMonitors, utilizes and modifies the CMMS system to assure maximum effectiveness; provides required and appropriate documentationCollects samples and performs routine laboratory tests and analyses on water treatment, industrial discharges, plant influent, process, effluent and biosolidsProcesses, hauls, and applies biosolids in accordance with plant schedules and regulatory requirementsMakes entries in plant logsAttends and conducts meetings and training sessions pertaining to safety, process control, etc.Makes operating decisions in the absence of supervisory personnelInforms supervision of needs and / or changes required to keep operations in a safe and well-maintained conditionPerforms other duties as requiredQualifications
High School Diploma or GEDA valid Drivers License3+ years experience as a Utility System Mechanic, Stationary Engineer or Refrigeration MechanicFamiliarity with chillers, compressors, cooling towers, building management systems, water distribution systems, emergency generators and fire pumps, water treatment programs, valves, pumps, and / or motorsA valid wastewater treatment certification is highly preferredOptions
