Summary

CareConnectMD is a fast-growing healthcare organization seeking a dynamic Director of Accounting to lead and scale our accounting operations. This role will play a key part in shaping our financial infrastructure, supporting strategic initiatives, and ensuring strong internal controls as we expand. This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Leadership

  • Drive financial performance by leading the development and enforcement of accounting policies, internal controls, and reporting frameworks.
  • Own month-end and year-end close processes, including consolidation of approximately 50 legal entities.
  • Deliver timely and accurate financial statements and executive-level reporting.
  • Lead preparation for external audits and maintain a clean audit record with no material weaknesses annually.
  • Research technical accounting issues and implement best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.

Operational Oversight

  • Oversee all accounting operations including Billing, A / R, A / P, payroll and general ledger.
  • Lead continuous improvement and automation of accounting processes and ERP / EMR systems (NetSuite).
  • Manage day-to-day treasury function to maximize return and limit risk by managing bank balances and making investments.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Team Leadership

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing accounting team.
  • Manage all aspects of team performance including recruiting, training, coaching, and professional development.
  • Foster a collaborative and results-driven culture.
  • Planning & Analysis

  • Collaborate with the CFO and Director of Finance to support the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts.
  • Achieve budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Business Partnership

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with non-finance teams such as Operations, Sales, and Human Resources.
  • Support company-wide initiatives related to growth, integration, and scaling.
  • Maintain appropriate professional conduct at all times.
  • Other responsibilities as needed to support the evolving needs of a high-growth, entrepreneurial organization.
  • Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • CPA designation (active).
  • Minimum 5-10 years of progressive accounting / finance experience.
  • Experience in creating financial statements and associated financial reporting requirement.
  • Hands-on experience with month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Experience working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas.
  • Proficiency in NetSuite and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • ERP implementation or process automation project leadership.

  • Expert in the operation and maintenance of NetSuite and ADP.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.

  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with non-finance teams (e.g., Operations, Sales, HR) to drive company-wide initiatives.
  • Strong leadership skills and team-building skills.

  • Excellent judgment in handling confidential and sensitive information.
