The incumbent will work in a high school environment and be entrusted to act as a working supervisor for a crew of custodians engaged in the cleaning of Wright Technical High School. The role includes planning crew workflow, scheduling, assigning, overseeing, and reviewing work, establishing and maintaining crew procedures, providing staff training and assistance, conducting or assisting in conducting performance evaluations, acting as liaison with operating units, agencies, and outside officials regarding unit policies and procedures, ensuring supplies and equipment for crew are adequate by reporting shortages to supervisor, performing full range of duties as outlined in custodian class specification, making recommendations on policies or standards, preparing reports and correspondence, and performing related duties as required.

Knowledge of building custodial and / or housekeeping work and related equipment; interpersonal skills; oral and written communication skills; ability to operate, care for, and perform minor maintenance on tools and equipment used in daily work; ability to utilize computer software; supervisory ability. Minimum qualifications : one (1) year of experience in work that could reasonably be expected to provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed above. Preferred qualifications include experience leading a crew of custodians, scheduling, assigning, overseeing, and evaluating the work of staff, planning team / crew workflow and determining priorities, monitoring supplies and equipment, waxing and polishing floors, moving furniture, removing snow and ice from stairways and walkways, and performing minor maintenance on tools and equipment.
