The Louisiana Department of Insurance is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Insurance Specialist 1 to join the Office of Property & Casualty / Louisiana Fortify Homes Program. This program helps strengthen homes across Louisiana by supporting homeowners through the grant application and review this role youll review applications and supporting documents verify eligibility for FORTIFIED Roof grants and assist with responding to insurance-related questions and complaints. The ideal candidate possesses the following competencies :

Minimum Qualifications
Three years of experience in insurance administrative services investigations or law enforcement; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR
A bachelors degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION :
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Career Progression : This position is part of a career progression group. Employees will begin as an Insurance Specialist 1 performing entry-level duties and may advance to the journeyman and eventually advanced levels as they gain experience and demonstrate proficiency in the role.

Compensation : The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
