Summary

We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide high-quality mental health care across various settings, including Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF), Long-Term Care (LTC), Assisted Living (AL), and Independent Living (IL). This role emphasizes work-life balance and offers a fulfilling opportunity to make a difference in the lives of adults and geriatrics in senior living communities.

As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, you'll work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care and tailored psychiatric support across the post-acute and long-term care continuum.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Psychiatric Care and Rounding : Conduct patient rounds and manage psychiatric care within SNF, LTC, AL, and IL settings.
• Collaborative Care Coordination : Partner with attending physicians, consulting specialists, referral sources, and facility staff to ensure comprehensive, coordinated care.
• Patient Evaluation and Management : Assess and manage the mental health needs of residents, perform physical exams, and gather complete medical histories.
• Diagnostics and Therapeutics : Order and interpret lab and diagnostic tests, make preliminary diagnoses, and develop effective therapeutic care plans for mental and physical health.
• Medication and Treatment Management : Prescribe and administer medications and treatments; provide injections as necessary.
• Patient and Family Education : Educate patients and families on medications, care plans, and preventive mental health practices.
• Acute Care Collaboration : Work alongside physicians and facility teams to address acute psychiatric and medical needs promptly and effectively.

Qualifications

This role requires travel to and from one or more assigned facilities. Depending on the amount of travel required, Curana may in future determine that a valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and an acceptable driving record are required. If so, you will be provided with thirty (30) days' notice of this requirement.
