Volunteer Recruitment Partner
Are you passionate about disaster response and community resilience? Do you want to help build strong, diverse teams to support the American Red Cross's mission across the Bay Area? We're seeking one Volunteer Recruitment Partner to help lead outreach and onboarding efforts for our San Mateo Disaster Cycle Services team!
About the Role
As a Volunteer Recruitment Partner, you will work alongside our Volunteer Recruitment Manager, Disaster Program Manager, Volunteer Engagement Manager, and other key stakeholders to recruit and support volunteers into impactful roles such as sheltering, disaster action teams (DAT), mass care, and more.
Responsibilities
Support local recruitment initiatives tailored to your assigned county.
Attend Disaster Cycle Services team check-ins to stay updated on needs.
Represent the Volunteer Recruitment function in key meetings.
Assist with new volunteer onboarding in coordination with our Engagement team.
Participate in strategy sessions to meet county-specific recruitment goals.
Support community outreach efforts, virtual and in-person (when applicable).
Ideal Candidate
Based in San Mateo County.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Passionate about community engagement, DEI, and disaster preparedness.
Available to support this role for 6 to 12 months, with flexible hours (approximately 5–10 per week).
