What You Will Be Doing
Building and maintaining deep education product expertise to inform strategic decisions
Creating technical specifications that embody critical technical decisions and prioritize simplicity, efficiency, and long‑term sustainability
Deploying generative AI technologies to automate and optimize engineering processes, consistent with the strategic vision of minimizing manual labor
What You Won’t Be Doing
Pure people management; your technical and business acumen will be the critical drivers in this position
Spending time in meetings, committees, and administrative tasks; we have automated management overhead to enable you to focus on creating business value through hands‑on work
High‑level strategies lacking implementation guidance; your recommendations must be grounded in product‑level insights
Vice President Of Product Engineering Key Responsibilities
Serve as the CTO of one or more education products, owning core competencies and delivering business value through seamless execution and strategic decision‑making
Basic Requirements
Deep experience or interest in data‑driven learning science
7+ years of experience making critical architecture and design decisions on software projects, including the application of architecture design patterns or significant open‑source technologies
2+ years of experience making design decisions involving the use of cloud computing services (primarily AWS)
4+ years of experience in positions with full technical and delivery ownership on a revenue‑generating product
Experience building product features that make advanced use of Generative AI
Experience using Generative AI to simplify work processes

Working with us
This is a full‑time (40 hours per week), long‑term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $200 USD / hour, which equates to $400,000 USD / year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
