Job Summary and Qualifications
The Registered Respiratory Therapist coordinates and delivers patient-centered respiratory care according to departmental needs and standards of practice. This role involves performing diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures, as well as monitoring patients who are receiving mechanical ventilation.
In this role, you will :
Conduct thorough patient assessments including breath sounds and airway patency, while documenting your findings.Administer various respiratory care therapies, including oxygen therapy and aerosol medication delivery.Assist with placing artificial airways, and initiate and maintain mechanical ventilation as needed.Monitor patients for therapeutic responses and intervene if there are any issues.Transport ventilator-dependent patients safely.Respond to emergency situations ensuring airway integrity and proper ventilation.Qualifications :
RRT or RCP designation required.Certificate or Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy.Must obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Cardiac Life Support certifications within 30 days of starting.Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from the NBRC.Our facility is known for excellence in transplant programs and other specialized services.
