Job Location : H & S Coordinators are required to travel to the construction site on rotation. We have various sites across the United States and Canada.
Job Summary : Under the supervision of the Health & Safety Manager, the Health & Safety Coordinator has a functional link with the Project Directors, Project Managers and other Site Health & Safety personnel. The Health & Safety Coordinator plan, organize, control and evaluate the activities of the Occupational Health and Safety Department at a national level.

- Bachelor’s degree in a health and safety program and / or equivalent combination of training and experience
- 3 - 5 years experience in a Health & Safety Coordinator role within the construction or industrial sector
- Experience in interpreting OSHA standards and regulations
- Bilingualism (English and Spanish), is an asset
- Great geographical mobility (25 to 50% of the time)
- Knowledge of applicable state environmental and safety laws / regulations and standards
- Well-developed people skills
- Strong ability to demonstrate initiative, autonomy and leadership
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
- Excellent team management skills and conflict resolution methods
- High administrative rigour
- Advanced experience with using Microsoft office suite, i.e., MS Office, Excel, MS PowerPoint and Incident Management Tools
- Knowledge of TapRoot (an asset)
- Valid driver's license
What you will do to complete this mission successfully :
Visit the sites at a national level and produce system / field auditsCreate documents (procedures, forms, etc.) and update them according to the specific needs of the worksites and the customer requestsUpdate the documentation on PROCORE and compliance (internal system) and the documentation related to the health and safety systemReview documents based on debriefings and accidents that occurred during the yearDevelop procedures, forms and booklets for workersCreate a register of hazardous products used on sites, find material safety data sheets for products used, update them on PROCORE and compliance and keep them up to dateProcess and classify documents from siteCorrect subcontractors’ pre-qualification forms and send the result to the site to inform them of the result, the duration of the pre-qualification, the methods of control and the missing documentsUpdate each state's prequalification based on information received from subcontractors and work sitesAnswer questions from subcontractors, occasionallyVerify the content and detail of accident investigations, root cause and corrective actionsSet up and conduct various training sessions and examsProvide prevention program training and accident investigation trainingSupport projects in the choice of training suppliersLead and participate in Site Health & Safety Committee meetings to ensure that system and accident aspects are communicated on all sitesGenerate statistical report and document tracking documents from siteResponsibilities, duties and requirements can vary according to the project needs
