MEDICAL ASSISTANT-FLOAT

MEDICAL ASSISTANT - GENERAL MEDICAL CONSULTANTS INC.

Travel Required to : New Albany, Granville, Zanesville

EDUCATION : CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) certification / degree (preferred) and high school diploma or GED required. Prefer current BLS certification.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Greet patients and escort them to clinical areas
• Conduct patient visit interview : confirm purpose of visit, review and record patient medical history, review medication list
• Obtain patient vital; when indicated complete EKGs, venipuncture and gather urine specimen
• Document all communications in clear and concise manner, and in compliance with professional standards Maintain supplies and equipment
• Perform cleaning and stocking of clinical supplies in lab and exam room
• Obtain lab results and clinical notes / dictations
• Post-appointment patient follow-up including verification of completed diagnostic testing and medication changes
• Answer and triage incoming phone calls; communicate physician recommendations and / or report test results via phone; call in prescriptions
• Patient scheduling
• Front office duties as needed : greet patients and visitors, collect insurance information, process copays or other payments
• Assist other team members with patient care
