The Position

The Utah Department of Transportation is looking for a hard working, hands-on individual to fill a Transportation Technician II position in Region Two's Murray Maintenance Station located at 5823 S Commerce, Murray, UT 84107. This is a very important position that is part of a team that oversees / is involved with the construction and maintenance of state roads and keeps Utah moving as safely and efficiently as possible.

Principle Duties

As a transportation technician in maintenance, you will learn about general maintenance activities related to state routes, highways, and other transportation infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include operating heavy machinery such as snowplows, salt spreaders, front-end loaders, and backhoes to maintain the roads, inspecting and testing materials used, and utilizing software to manage the Department's assets. After 18 months, each transportation technician is expected to cross-train in various construction areas. You will perform the following :
