Our client, a leading federal defense contractor is seeking an RF Systems Engineer for their MUOS team in Scottsdale, AZ. You will be a member of a cross functional team responsible for defining, developing, testing and sustaining specialized solutions that are used by our warfighters worldwide on patrol in hostile environments, whether urban, canyon, mountains, or jungles - or even the Arctic Circle. Not only does our client maintain the current live system, but you will help add new capabilities, enhancements and replace end of life components.
Responsibilities :
- Develop and document system architectures, behavioral descriptions and interfaces
- Define and review system requirements and requirement verification test plans
- Design, development, integration and test of radio frequency (RF) telecommunication systems including :
- Satellite communication (SATCOM) principles and communication types
- Compliance with industry standards and safety regulations
- Link budgets and propagation models
- Integrated telemetry, tracking and commanding (TT&C) hardware and software
- Engineering tools and techniques to optimize system performance
- Use of RF test equipment to verify system performance
