We are looking for a skilled and organized Part-time Bookkeeper to join our team in Honolulu, Hawaii. This long-term contract position offers a flexible schedule, allowing you to work three days a week while contributing to the financial health and stability of the organization. Responsibilities :
- Accurately record incoming payments and manage outstanding customer balances to maintain up-to-date accounts receivable.
- Process invoices, manage payment schedules, and ensure timely payment of all accounts payable obligations.
- Handle payroll for a small team of under ten employees using QuickBooks and designated payroll software, including processing quarterly payroll taxes and making electronic payments.
- Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accurately documented.
- Assist in preparing month-end financial reports and ensure all accounts are properly balanced for review.
- Monitor cash flow to prioritize financial obligations and make recommendations for bill payments.
- Provide detailed financial statements, profit and loss reports, and monthly summaries as requested.
- Apply analytical skills to support sound financial decision-making and contribute to the company’s growth.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and deadlines, including estimated payments when necessary.
- Proven experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations, and month-end procedures.
- Recent hands-on experience with QuickBooks and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Familiarity with payroll processing software and ability to manage payroll independently without cross-training.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all financial transactions and reconciliations.
- Ability to solve problems proactively and make informed decisions regarding financial priorities.
- Excellent communication skills and a detail-oriented, team-focused attitude.
- Minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping experience.
- Must be based in or near Honolulu, Hawaii, and comfortable commuting to the office.
