  • This position will provide janitorial and maintenance services at our various sites throughout King County, including Urban League Village, located in the Central District of Seattle, and ULMS Resource Center, located in Seattle on Rainier Avenue.
  • S, and our permanent supportive housing facilities located in West Seattle and Federal Way

POSITION SUMMARY :

The Janitorial & General Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing basic repairs to multiple building systems and equipment to ensure the facility is tidy, clean, and operates smoothly. This position performs basic upkeep tasks, including repairs, cleaning, and basic maintenance. This position takes responsibility for the daily repair and upkeep of the property and the preparation of vacant units for occupancy. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, groundskeeping, trash disposal, and general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures etc., installation of appliances, apartment turnovers, etc.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • HS Diploma or GED required;
  • 2+ years of hands-on general maintenance experience, preferably in an apartment complex; trade school or industry experience is preferred
  • Ability to read and write in standard English
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Ability to work independently, multitask, and set priorities
  • Ability to interact with a wide variety of audiences in a professional manner
  • Demonstrates cultural competency and sensitivity to the needs of adults with multiple challenges
