About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Financial Officer for its County Health Department. The successful candidate will be a key part of a global public health organization, supporting the mission to protect, promote, and improve the health of all people. This highly responsible role involves overseeing the agency's financial standing, directing and supervising administrative services, and ensuring the financial sustainability of the county health department. The CFO will be responsible for the agency's budget, financial and accounting functions, general services, facilities, purchasing, and vital statistics. They must be prepared to work before, during, or beyond normal hours in the event of an emergency and are expected to embody the values of innovation, collaboration, accountability, responsiveness, and excellence. Applicants for the Chief Financial Officer position at the County Health Department should have a background in advanced accounting principles, financial planning, and management. The role requires a minimum of 5 years' experience as a CFO, business manager, or financial administrator, with a preference for those holding a current CPA license. The CFO will be responsible for formulating and maintaining policies, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations, and supervising a team of staff. The position demands a candidate with strong skills in decision-making, problem-solving, and critical thinking, as well as the ability to effectively communicate and manage human resources. The CFO will also be involved in the development and monitoring of the annual budget, so experience in this area is essential.
