Our associates are expert quality assurance professionals with extensive experience and local expertise, enabling us to represent our clients on demand and with greater speed and efficiency than our competitors We are seeking a Manufacturing Review Engineer to support the detailed technical review of manufactured work orders for aerospace-grade hydraulic pumps and fluid control components. This role ensures that all redlined customer specifications, engineering drawings, and change-controlled requirements are accurately reflected across internal manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, travelers, inspection criteria, and process controls. The engineer will identify gaps, inconsistencies, or deviations and provide clear, documented feedback to the appropriate engineering groups for remediation. This role does not own corrective implementation; it focuses on highly accurate assessment, detection of discrepancies, and communication of required updates. This is a month-long contract position working on the first shift full-time in El Monte, CA
Key Responsibilities
- 1.Technical Review of Manufactured Batches
- Review completed work orders, component histories, and travelers for compliance with redlined specifications and requirements.
- Verify that torque values, machining parameters, surface finishes, coatings, cleanliness levels, tolerances, and material callouts align with revised drawings.
- Check that any engineering changes (ECOs, deviations, waivers) are properly incorporated into production documentation.
- 2.Redline Specification & Drawing Alignment
- Interpret customer redlines on specifications and drawings for hydraulic pumps, valves, actuators, and fluid-handling assemblies.
- Validate consistency between customer-provided redlines and internal manufacturing instructions.
- Ensure inspection plans and measurement methods reflect updated dimensional and functional requirements.
- 3. Documentation & Process Audit
- Assess work instructions, travelers, routers, and inspection sheets for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Identify missing process parameters, unclear machining steps, outdated inspection methods, or misaligned torque / coating / finish callouts.
- Document discrepancies in a structured format and submit to the appropriate engineering group for action.
- 4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Communicate findings to Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Process Engineering.
- Participate in review meetings to clarify technical gaps and support resolution planning.
- Maintain strong working relationships with shop floor teams to understand practical impacts of specification changes.
- 5. Continuous Improvement Support
- Provide recommendations on systemic documentation gaps or recurring issues.
- Contribute to improving document control flow between Customer Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline.3+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, preferably in hydraulic systems, pumps, actuators, or fluid power components.Strong ability to read, interpret, and analyze engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and redlines.Understanding of machining processes, torque application, coatings, tolerances, and aerospace assembly practices.Experience with manufacturing documentation (travelers, work instructions, inspection plans).Knowledge of AS9100 and aerospace documentation requirements.Excellent attention to detail and structured documentation skills.Preferred Qualificaations
Experience with hydraulic pump manufacturing or fluid power components in an aerospace environment.Familiarity with CMM inspection results and metrology principles.Background in configuration management or document control.Knowledge of ERP / MRP systems and revision control workflows.Actual compensation will be based on a variety of factors, including experience, skills, qualifications, and location. Mileage reimbursement at the US government rate ($0.70 per mile driven). Untaxed.
