Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Respiratory Therapist Discipline : Allied Health Professional Start Date : ASAP Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Travel Respiratory Therapist - Night Shift 3x12.0 Job Description The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care, offering intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed, within the scope of professional license and with minimal supervision. The therapist evaluates patients and recommends treatment plans, ensuring effective communication of procedures and treatments to patients, while providing necessary education upon discharge. Duties include administering prescribed medications, performing diagnostic tests, and assisting in various respiratory care procedures. Responsibilities Conduct physician-prescribed treatments operating various ventilatory equipment, both invasive and non-invasive. Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning by various methods. Monitor patient's condition through oximetry and capnography. Review patient's chest X-rays and perform pulmonary function studies. Assist with respiratory care procedures including bronchoscopy and tracheostomy care. Perform arterial punctures and monitor ventilation efficiency. Document all pertinent treatment information and communicate with healthcare team members. Maintain respiratory therapy charging and verify information accuracy.
