SumoLogic is seeking a strong Software Engineer, backend, to join our Cloud SIEM team. As a Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining our cutting-edge cloud-based SIEM solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable cloud services
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
- Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of services
- Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
- Experience with CI and on-call production support
- Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
- Mentor junior engineers and help them grow their technical skills
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our products remain cutting-edge
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field5-8 years of industry experience with a proven track record of ownershipExperience with Scala (or another JVM language) and Kafka in production environmentsExperience in multi-threaded programming and globally distributed systems (preferably in AWS)Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholdersDemonstrated ability to learn quickly, solve problems and adapt to new technologiesFamiliarity with Agile development methodologies and practicesOccasional on-call availability.Nice to Haves
Experience building / maintaining production services built in PythonFamiliarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, etc.Knowledge and understanding around operating Kafka at scaleExperience running Apache Spark & Iceberg in production environmentsFamiliarity with the security spaceWorking experience with GitHub Actions or other CI pipelinesA GitHub account with recent activity and contributions to open source projects
