Summary : Utilizes the principles of the nursing process to provide for the continuity and quality of nursing care administered to a specific group of neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult or geriatric patients consistent with the philosophy, goals, policies and procedures of the Nursing Department and Hospital Administration. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to the age of the patient served on the nursing unit or by patient care department.

Education : Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Experience : At least one year of previous PACU experience required. One to three years of Med / Surg experience preferred. BCLS, ACLS and PALS Required.

License : Current license issued by New York State to practice as a Registered Nurse.

Working Conditions :

Manual : significant manual skills / motor coord & finger dexterity

Occupational : Significant occupational risk

Physical Effort : Very Heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs. force

Physical Environment : Significant exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
