Purchasing Manager-Construction

Location : Central / West Houston (Onsite)

Industry : Residential Construction

A growing residential construction company in Central / West Houston is seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead procurement operations and support the success of fast-paced construction projects. This role requires strong vendor management, cost control, and material coordination skills to ensure timely and efficient project execution.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage the full purchasing cycle—from planning and purchase orders to tracking and inventory
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and schedules with vendors to meet project deadlines and budgets
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate closely with project managers, field teams, and accounting
  • Maintain accurate material take-offs and supplier records
  • Resolve delivery issues and discrepancies; track supplier performance
  • Identify and implement procurement process improvements and cost-saving opportunities

Requirements :

  • 2–5 years of purchasing or materials management experience in the construction industry (required)
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, vendor negotiations, and inventory control
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Highly organized with strong time management and communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, or related field (preferred)
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
