Summary :

The Loader Operator is responsible for a variety of tasks. They typically use motorized equipment such as a front-end loader, yard truck, haul truck. Loader operators are also responsible for processing shipping and receiving paperwork.

Role and Responsibilities :

• Participate in mandatory stretching exercise program
• Receive direction and work orders from the Quarry Supervisor
• Verify that tools and equipment are in proper working condition
• Follow all safety regulations
• Verify the accuracy of quantity and quality of incoming material
• Shipping and Receiving
• Ensure packaging is secure and intact, labeled properly and if needed, re-labeling or wrapping
• Load / unload trucks for outside contractors, customers, transfer trucks and quarry transfers (occasional live loading required)
• Keep all material handling equipment in the best condition by conducting daily inspection
• Ensure product meets quality standards
• Complete required paperwork
• Maintain an organized and neat work area
• Setup and stage orders for shipping, document weight and quantity on load sheets.
• Finished product placed in the proper designated area
• Occasionally weigh and band finished product
• Haul cutting stock pallets to staging areas
• Scan all necessary paperwork to its final destination as needed
• Quarry stone if / when possible
• Snow removal and salt / sand as needed
• Make pallets off stock piles when possible
• Other duties as assigned
