Job Title : Terraform / GCP Data Engineer Location : Nashville, TN 37243 - Hybrid Schedule : Monday–Friday, 8 : 00 AM – 4 : 30 PM CST Estimated Duration : 11 / 17 / 2025 – 06 / 30 / 2026 Position Summary : The Terraform / GCP Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise data center infrastructure and cloud environments to support the State of Tennessee’s ERP systems. This role involves strong technical leadership, architecture design, and hands-on implementation using Terraform and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Key Responsibilities : Design and architect data center infrastructure, including networks, firewalls, servers, SAN, and databases (SQL, Oracle). Develop and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform (HCL) and GCP services. Implement and optimize CI / CD and GitOps workflows for infrastructure automation. Manage networking, IAM, logging, and monitoring within GCP. Ensure secure and efficient handling of states, secrets, and credentials. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers and business analysts to develop scalable enterprise solutions. Provide architectural oversight throughout design, build, test, and deployment phases. Prepare documentation, technical reports, and implementation plans. Take initiative in solution development with an enterprise-focused, results-driven mindset. Qualifications & Skills : 7–9 years of experience in cloud infrastructure, Terraform, and GCP architecture. Strong knowledge of networking, IAM, logging, and monitoring in GCP. Expertise integrating Terraform with CI / CD and GitOps pipelines. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Bash for automation. Understanding of state management, secrets handling, and cloud security. 5–10 years of experience in network or data center design preferred. Proven IT project management experience with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work with multiple levels of staff and management in a collaborative environment.
