Job Summary The Dietitian Supervisor leads the clinical nutrition team in their day-to-day functions and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements. Supervisory Duties Oversees and directs the activities of the nutrition department. Develops policies and procedures for all nutrition education services and programs. Participates in interviews, selection, hiring, and onboarding of staff. Provides training, advice, direction, and oversight for staff. Manages staff schedules, builds templates, and ensures adequate coverage. Delivers regular performance feedback and constructive performance evaluations; follows established disciplinary and termination procedures as needed. Coordinates precepting for dietetic interns Ensures compliance with state and federal rules and regulations; follows and trains team on dietetics protocols. Provides service recovery in response to negative patient feedback. Ensures staff adhere to and follow all organizational policies, safety standards, and healthcare regulations. Duties / Responsibilities Completes nutritional assessment using established evidence-based, diagnosis-related nutrition care guidelines. Reviews integrated nutrition screening reports and accurately identifies patients at nutritional risk in both pediatric and adult populations. Evaluates patient outcome and progress toward achieving nutrition goals. Revises intervention and / or education plan. Serves as nutrition specialist and resource to physicians, NOAH departments, allied health professionals, and accredited nutrition programs. Prepares written outcome-oriented documentation for the patient’s medical record on all consultation in accordance with evidence-based practice guidelines. Researches, develops, and implements patient nutrition care protocols and educational materials, based on evidence-based practice. Participates in performance integration and improvement of patient care processes and department or system process improvement initiatives. Compiles or develops and updates nutrition education materials in cooperation with the clinical staff. Attends, participates, and / or assists in meetings, trainings, community outreach activities, continuing education opportunities, and other activities as required. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Skills / Knowledge / Abilities In-depth knowledge of nutritional standards and best practices. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to exercise confidentiality, discretion, and good judgment. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Ability to work independently and reliably. Ability to speak English and Spanish preferred. Education And Experience Required : Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Education, Public Health or related field. Current Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetics Registration. 1+ years of Nutrition experience as an RDN in an ambulatory setting. 1+ years of diabetes education. Preferred Master’s degree. 1+ years of leadership experience. BC-ADM and / or CDCES Certification. Other Requirements New Hires are required to pass pre-employment background check and drug testing (effective 11 / 1 / 2022). Current Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card or must pass fingerprint clearance within 7 days following hire.
