Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a Level I Trauma Center in Michigan with required trauma and pediatric certifications.
Responsibilities
Work in the Emergency Department of a Level I Trauma, Stroke, and Heart CenterTreats adult and pediatric patients in a high-acuity, high-volume environmentPatient ratios are 1 : 5-6, and may reach up to 1 : 8 during peak times and holidaysNight shifts, four 12-hour shifts per week (19 : 00–07 : 30)Weekend requirement is three weekends (Friday–Sunday) per four-week schedule; may include one, two, or all three daysFloating required, including possible assignments to pediatric emergencyNo on-call responsibilitiesUses Epic EMR, with Epic experience preferredLocals are accepted at the same rateResponsible for emergency care of diverse patient populations with varying acuity, including critical trauma and pediatric patientsContinuous IV and procedural sedation, and triage experience preferredMust be willing to work two of three major holidays; one holiday off may be requested, but cannot request both the day of and the eve / day after a holidayAll requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of application; maximum five days allowedRTO is blocked during specified peak timesRequired to complete facility modules prior to start, with orientation provided on Epic EMRReturning staff must wait at least 12 months before reapplyingRequirements
Active MI RN license required by start date; compact licenses not acceptedCurrent ACLS, BLS (AHA), PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications required; ENPC preferredMinimum two years of recent ER experience in a Level I Trauma Center requiredExperience in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias requiredProof of high school education requiredEpic charting experience preferredFirst-time travelers will be consideredBenefits
