Job description

Join Clean Harbors as an Emergency Response Environmental Field Laborer and be a crucial part of our dedicated team! You will work actively in the field, managing tasks related to hazardous waste clean-up, site remediation, equipment decontamination, and handling various hazardous materials.

This position requires :

  • Valid driver's license
  • Monday to Friday schedule with an average start time of 6 AM
  • 8-10+ hour days with overtime after 40 hours
  • Availability for emergency responses and occasional project work during evenings and weekends
  • Possible overnight travel, with hotel and per diem covered by the company

All new hires must attend our 2-week out-of-state Training Academy, which is paid and all expenses are covered by Clean Harbors.

    • Key Responsibilities :

  • Prioritize health and safety by adhering to all policies and procedures.
  • Engage in physically demanding tasks such as lifting and pulling heavy objects.
  • Operate both light and heavy equipment, as well as various hand and powered tools.
  • Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) properly.
  • Work in various weather conditions, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Be prepared to handle exposure to hazardous materials in varying environments.
  • Assist with field sampling activities and meter calibrations.
  • Follow all compliance regulations and guidelines.
  • Participate in emergency response on a rotating basis.

    • Qualifications :

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Physical ability to perform job responsibilities.
  • Ability to be on-call for emergencies, working some weekends and holidays as required.
  • Complete background checks, drug tests, and physicals as necessary.
  • Meet facial hair standards for those required to wear respirators.

    • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Previous labor experience is a plus.
