Cloud Engineer - Unix

Duration : 6+ months

Location : On-site 3 days / week in Cincinnati, OH or St. Petersburg, FL

Responsibilities :

• Deliver high-quality technical support and cloud services across multiple clients and environments.
• Analyze client needs, gather technical requirements, and define architectural solutions.
• Collaborate with project managers on small- to medium-scale design and implementation projects.
• Develop and maintain automation, monitoring, and alerting scripts using tools such as CloudWatch, OEM, Splunk, and New Relic.
• Administer Linux / Unix operating systems and perform scripting (Python, Bash, Shell) for automation and optimization.
• Build and manage containerized environments using Kubernetes and Docker.
• Implement Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or Chef.
• Stay current with best practices across Windows / Linux, AWS, Azure, and OCI platforms.
• Provide expertise in system performance tuning, capacity planning, patching, and version upgrades.
• Create and maintain standard templates for repeatable builds and recovery plans.
• Plan, assess, and execute production system changes and disaster recovery tests.
• Collaborate with vendors to meet service level goals and ensure system reliability.
• Support the Linux team with major upgrades and infrastructure improvements.
• Demonstrate strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
