Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Reports To :
Director of Student Services and Building Principals
Job Summary :
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) provides diagnostic, therapeutic, and consultative services for students with communication disorders that impact academic and social success. The SLP collaborates with staff, families, and related service providers to implement individualized education program (IEP) goals and support the overall communication needs of students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Identify, evaluate, and diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders.
- ?Develop and implement therapy plans aligned with student IEP goals.
- Provide direct and indirect therapy services in individual, small group, and classroom settings.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support communication across school environments.
- Supervise Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) as outlined by ASHA and Indiana state law.
- Document and maintain accurate student records, progress monitoring, and compliance reports in accordance with state and federal requirements.
- Participate in case conferences, IEP meetings, and multidisciplinary team planning.
- Provide training, consultation, and resources to school staff regarding communication and language supports.
- Maintain professional licensure and stay current on best practices in speech-language pathology.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education or principal.
Qualifications :
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.?Indiana license and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP).Strong knowledge of communication development and disorders.Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.Work Environment :
School-based setting serving students with diverse needs.?Requires travel between buildings as assigned.
