Senior Director Tax

Overview

A high-growth, partner-led CPA group is expanding its leadership team. With a client base consisting of sophisticated individuals, family offices, and investment professionals, the firm has built its reputation on technical excellence, elite service, and steady double-digit growth. This is a pivotal hire that will help set the foundation for their next stage of scale.

This position will function as the second-in-command within the tax practice, working directly alongside the Managing Partner. The ideal candidate will combine technical strength in high-end individual and partnership taxation with proven leadership and client management skills. This is not a back-office role — it’s highly visible, client-facing, and central to shaping firm operations going forward.

Responsibilities

• Review complex tax filings (individual, trust, partnership, and S-corp) and guide staff in technical execution
• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of ~8 staff (onshore and offshore) with accountability for deadlines, quality, and professional development
• Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of HNW and investment clients, running calls and ensuring proactive advisory support
• Support tax planning, forecasting, and broader firm initiatives to enhance processes, systems, and client experience
• Act as a stabilizing leader during peak workloads while driving continuous improvements in workflow and technology adoption
