Overview

A leading commercial construction group is seeking an experienced Estimator to join its growing team in Colorado Springs. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in commercial construction estimating, scheduling, and bid development — with the ability to visualize how a project comes together in the field. This role is central to producing accurate, competitive bids and supporting the company’s goal of winning work through precision, strategy, and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Review & Interpret Plans : Analyze drawings and specifications to determine full project scope and identify potential risks or opportunities.
• Develop Cost Estimates : Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and pricing for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors using estimating software.
• Build Construction Schedules : Develop project schedules from the ground up, coordinating with field teams to ensure realistic sequencing and milestones.
• Bid Strategy : Contribute to complete and compelling bid packages, including project execution strategies and schedule narratives.
• Subcontractor Coordination : Solicit, review, and incorporate subcontractor quotes; maintain positive vendor relationships.
• Team Collaboration : Work closely with preconstruction, project management, and leadership to assemble accurate, strategic proposals.
• Quality Control : Review all bid submissions for completeness, competitiveness, and alignment with company standards.
• Market Awareness : Stay informed on local labor rates, material pricing, and market trends to ensure cost accuracy and competitiveness.

Qualifications

3+ years of commercial (ground-up) construction estimating experience

Experience with Procore or similar project management platforms
