Location : Kodiak, Alaska (Zip : 99615) – Alaska nursing jobs in a picturesque island setting with ocean views, forests, and wildlife.

Duration : 13-week contract

Shift : 5x8-Hour Days (07 : 00 - 15 : 30)

Hours per Week : 40

Guaranteed Hours : 72 hours per 2 weeks

On-call & Weekend : Required

Estimated Weekly Pay : $2,350 - $2,520 per week

Housing & Vehicle : Facility-provided 1-bedroom apartment and rental vehicle

Charting : Epic EMR

Scrub Color : Any or Business Casual

Parking : Free onsite parking

Operating Room Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room RN experience

Active Alaska RN License (pending license accepted with completed application)

BLS and ACLS certifications required

Proficiency with Epic charting system

Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs

Weekend and on-call rotation required

Willingness to work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)

Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility (no local candidates)

Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment in the last 3 years in a comparable specialty / setting

Facility only accepts Hepatitis B vaccines

Operating Room RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality perioperative nursing care in the Operating Room

Assist with surgical procedures : thoracotomy, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, laparoscopic procedures, orthopedic / spine surgeries, cystoscopy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, and more

Ensure accurate specimen handling, labeling, and compliance with universal protocols

Maintain infection control, fire safety, laser safety, and radiation safety standards

Administer blood and blood products as needed

Participate in wound management and post-operative care

Float to other nursing units within scope as needed

Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to provide patient-centered care
