This posting is for a Nurse Educator in Colorado Springs CO. This is a hybrid position assigned to Headquarters but requires frequent statewide (weekly) travel to Therapeutic Communities (Facilities).

• This is a term-limited position. Employment is anticipated to last until September 30 2026 contingent upon funding . The selected individual will be required to sign a waiver of retention rights which infers no rights to retain a state-classified position beyond the assignment. This position is eligible for full benefits

Description of Job

The Nurse III (Nurse Supervisor) Is responsible for education to the Therapeutic Communities and staff about the medical issues that can accompany substance use disorders. Provide educational groups and individual sessions to TC clients pertaining to infectious diseases pain and addiction cardiovascular concerns pregnancy and addiction as well as various other co-occurring medical issues. Successfully pass all modules of the six-week Colorado Department of Corrections Basic Training to include English reading comprehension relevant competency assessments and written / practical exams in Defensive Tactics
