Unit Details

Unit Description

Patients admitted to the 35-bed stepdown / telemetry unit (3A) at Fairmont Regional Medical Center are placed under the specialized care of the nursing staff. Typically patients seen on this unit have recently experienced a health event that requires 24-hour supervision using a heart monitor.

Health conditions / problems managed on stepdown / telemetry unit include chest pain, palpitations, atrial fibrillation, congestive heart failure and hypertension. Our nurses on the stepdown / telemetry unit receive additional Critical Care and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training to better care for these types of conditions. The nursing staff includes registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, certified nurse aides and other health care professionals.
