The Accounts Receivable Supervisor is responsible for the overseeing of multiple departments. Daily reporting of work assignments, follow up of outstanding and overdue claims.

Essential Job Functions :

  • Provides training, coaching, and directions to staff to achieve optimal performance in work area
  • Assist in monitoring quality standards to ensure compliance with billing rules and regulations
  • Assist in monitoring productivity to ensure timely adjudication of claims as they are billed out
  • Maintains policies and procedures for areas of responsibility
  • Assists in planning and monitoring billing and follow up functions and processes to meet the department goals and ensure adherence to compliance guidelines and regulations
  • Monitors coding sources staff use to obtain coding advice and provide regular and consistent coding education
  • Acts as liaison with business offices, physician offices, other departments, and leadership to identify and resolve patient balance issues
  • Processes and reviews all Litigated and Legal correspondence
  • Works with the collection agencies regarding placing accounts, settlements and any legal correspondence
  • Return Mail
  • Bankrupt Balanced Accounts
  • Reoccurring patient payments, updates and declined payments
  • Works with Patient Financial Counselors with all duties as assigned
  • Direct contact with posting team regarding collection agency payments
  • Reviews and Processes Other duties as assigned

  • Travel :

    Travel between Lakeshore Bone & Joint Institute locations is expected for this position when necessary.

    Experience / Position Requirements :

    Minimum of 1-year experience in healthcare management

    Minimum Education : Bachelor’s degree

    Physical Requirements :

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit and / or stand for prolonged periods, work longer than eight (8) hour shifts, and to work both day / evening shifts. Work may hand dexterity as well as the need to reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 lbs. While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.     Environmental / Working Conditions :

    Work is performed in an office environment. Involves frequent personal and telephone contact with patients and with testing sites and surgery departments. Work may be stressful at times. Interaction with others is constant and interruptive. Contact involves dealing with injured sick people.
