Quality Assurance Supervisor
The Quality Assurance Supervisor oversees daily QA operations to ensure all food products meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards. This role leads QA technicians, manages food safety programs, and ensures compliance with FDA, SQF, FSMA, and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership : Supervise, train, and mentor QA technicians to uphold quality and food safety best practices.
Quality Assurance : Oversee inspection, testing, and monitoring of in-process and finished products to meet specifications.
Regulatory Compliance : Ensure adherence to FDA, SQF, FSMA, GMPs, and all internal quality policies.
Food Safety & HACCP : Manage HACCP programs, monitor CCPs (including metal detection), and oversee corrective actions.
Audits & Inspections : Lead internal audits and support external regulatory and certification audits.
Corrective Actions : Investigate non-conformances, conduct root cause analysis, and drive corrective and preventive actions.
Documentation & Reporting : Maintain accurate records of inspections, audits, and corrective actions; prepare required reports.
Continuous Improvement : Identify and implement process improvements related to quality, efficiency, and waste reduction.
Training : Provide ongoing training on food safety, SOPs, GMPs, and regulatory updates.
Qualifications
High school diploma required; bachelor's in food science or related field preferred.
35 years of QA experience in food manufacturing; 12 years in a supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of FDA, SQF, FSMA, HACCP, and GMPs.
Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proficiency with QC testing methods, lab equipment, and food safety software.
HACCP or SQF certification preferred.
