Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position in Illinois requiring BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
Responsibilities
Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital settingServe a diverse patient population with varying acuity levelsNight shift hours are 10am-10pmAssignments are 13 weeks in durationUse of electronic health record (EHR) for documentationHandle triage according to the ESI triage algorithmCare for behavioral health patients in acute crisisResponsibilities include patient assessment, care planning and implementation, medication management, and timely documentationCare for sexual assault victims and manage required documentation and evidenceCommunicate clearly with first responders, patients, and families, often in trauma situationsParticipate in hospital codes including Code Blue, Code Green, and response team protocolsManage expired patient care, including required notifications and proceduresFacilitate patient flow and delegate tasks within the department as neededAdhere to EMTALA guidelines for patient transfersAdapt to a dynamic environment and maintain emotional and mental stability for patient and team supportRequirements
Current Illinois RN license requiredGraduate of an accredited school of nursingActive BLS certification requiredACLS certification required within 1 year of hirePALS certification required within 1 year of hireDe-escalation training requiredAt least 1 year of experience in an emergency department or similar setting preferredAbility to perform physical demands such as lifting and transferring patients and using PPEBenefits
