Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct evaluations across various age groups using both standardized testing methods and observational assessments.
  • Create tailored treatment plans that address immediate short-term and ongoing communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
  • Deliver personalized speech therapy focused on language development, fluency, vocal issues, and swallowing difficulties.
  • Engage with a multi-disciplinary team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and family members to develop integrated care approaches.
  • Provide educational resources for patients and families, empowering them to support progress outside of therapy sessions.
  • Occasionally perform inpatient assessments and therapy to ensure a seamless continuum of care.
  • Document clinical information accurately and on time in accordance with state, federal, and organizational policies.
  • Remain updated with the latest advancements in the field through ongoing education and collaboration with peers.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
  • Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred : Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) issued by ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • Essential Skills

  • Expertise in evidence-based therapies for all age groups, with profound knowledge of both developmental and acquired communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Skillful at adjusting therapy methods to cater to different cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Strong clinical judgment and decision-making capabilities.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records and documentation protocols.
