EC BEHAVIOR SPECIALIST

Term of Employment : 11 months

Compensation : Teacher Salary Schedule + Supplement / Stipend

Reports to : EC Ancillary Support Specialist & Executive Director of Exceptional Children

Purpose : To identify and provide support, training and coaching to staff to address student behaviors. This role is

responsible for district planning and maintaining federal and state reporting, overseeing CPI training for the district and

participating in the EC district leadership work.

Qualifications

Minimum

• Five (5) years of teaching experience working with students with disabilities
• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in special education
• North Carolina Teaching License in any Exceptional Children area
• Knowledge and understanding of Functional Behavior Assessments & Behavior Intervention Plans
• Direct Experience working with students with behavioral needs
• Experience collecting and analyzing data to create comprehensive plans
• Experience analyzing state and local special education data
• Ability to obtain, train and maintain certification in Non-violent Crisis Prevention Intervention
