This role is responsible for preparing raw plant material for extraction, including handling, sorting, grinding, and loading into extraction systems. The ideal candidate has experience working in a production or lab environment and understands the importance of consistency, cleanliness, and safety in pre-extraction processes. The Lab Technician will be responsible for navigating day-to-day lab operations as directed by the Extraction Lab Manager. Receive, weigh, and log incoming biomass for extraction Sort and grind plant material to specified particle size for optimal extraction efficiency Load prepared material into extraction vessels according to batch requirements Monitor humidity, material condition, and storage protocols to maintain quality Maintain cleanliness and organization of pre-processing areas Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines at all times Assist with minor maintenance and cleaning of processing equipment Track and record batch data and inventory accurately using internal systems Communicate with extraction technicians to ensure smooth workflow and readiness Must have the ability to both perform tedious tasks and multi-task Required to alternate day and night shifts to accommodate cross-training in both methods of extraction Flexibility in scheduling is required All other duties as assigned Education & Other Requirements Laboratory experience required; experience with hydrocarbon extraction or related methods preferred Basic computer skills including the use of Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as state-mandated tracking system required (with training provided) Must be 21 years of age Required to pass a Florida Department of Law Enforcement Level 2 criminal background check as required by the Office of Medical Marijuana Use (OMMU) Physical Demands Physical Demands Percentage of Work Time Spent on Activity 0-24% 25%-49% 50%-74% 75-100% Lifting / Pulling / Pushing : Must be able to lift to 50lbs X Fingering / Grasping / Feeling : Must be able to type and use technical sources. Must be able to climb, stoop or kneel X Sitting / Standing / Walking : Must be able to be stationery and / or move about departments X Starting Pay Rate : $18.50 / hour Powered by JazzHR
