About the Company

Join the U.S. Navy Medical Service Corps as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) and serve as a Commissioned Officer in one of the world's most advanced healthcare organizations. In this role, you'll perform and oversee critical laboratory testing that directly supports the health and operational readiness of Sailors, Marines, and their families.

As an Active Duty Officer, you'll serve onsite at Navy hospitals, clinics, hospital ships, and field medical units across the globe. Relocation is required as duty assignments are determined by the needs of the Navy.

About the Role

In this role, you'll perform and oversee critical laboratory testing that directly supports the health and operational readiness of Sailors, Marines, and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and supervise clinical laboratory testing in hematology, chemistry, microbiology, immunology, serology, and transfusion services.
  • Ensure strict compliance with Navy and CLIA quality standards.
  • Lead and mentor Navy Hospital Corpsmen and laboratory technicians.
  • Manage laboratory operations and contribute to the Navy's mission of medical readiness and global health support.
  • Support deployed medical units and participate in humanitarian or disaster-response missions as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Medical Technology (MT), Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS), Medical Laboratory Science (MLS), or a natural science from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a one-year NAACLS-accredited program in MT / CLS / MLS.
  • ASCP certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS).
  • At least three years of recent clinical laboratory experience (within the last six years).
  • Supervisory and leadership experience preferred.
  • Blood bank experience (donor center and transfusion services) is a plus.
