Job Title : Preventative Maintenance Tech. (PM Tech)

Summary
This position is responsible for the maintenance and light repair of DHI’s vehicle fleet, including pickups, pumps, tractors, trailers, light plants, and skid steers. The technician will properly perform pm’s, diagnose, repair, and document all work performed. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of fleet preventative maintenance experience and be familiar with brakes / batteries. Responsibilities also include managing parts and supply inventory. All employees are expected to perform their duties in a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible manner. This is a team-oriented position ideal for someone eager to learn and grow with the company.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct DHI’s maintenance program to promote equipment reliability and reduce failures.
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections on all DHI-owned equipment and vehicles
- Follow and perform fluid changes, filter replacements, and system checks as outlined in OEM maintenance schedules
- Keep accurate records of service intervals and completed maintenance using ARI Garage or other fleet software
- Identify potential equipment issues during inspections and escalate to Lead Technician or Fleet Maintenance Supervisor
- Maintain and update preventative maintenance logs and parts usage reports
- Assist in maintaining appropriate inventory levels of maintenance-related parts and fluids
- Report damaged or non-functional equipment and coordinate minor repairs as needed
- Perform basic electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical system maintenance as required
- Ensure all maintenance is performed safely and in accordance with HSE guidelines
- Keep work areas clean and tools properly stored to support safe operations
- Support training efforts for field personnel regarding routine equipment care
- Follow all company policies and complete tasks assigned by Lead Technician or Fleet Maintenance Supervisor
Skill Requirements
Must possess a valid Driver’s License and meet DHI’s insurance requirementsHigh school diploma or GED required2+ years of preventative maintenance or service technician experience preferredStrong understanding of vehicle and equipment service intervals and maintenance proceduresFamiliarity with fluid analysis programs and scheduled inspection protocolsIntermediate mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system knowledgeExperience with battery testing, charging systems, and power tool useStrong organizational and documentation skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and fleet management softwareMust be able to travel to various job sites for on-site maintenanceOwnership of a basic personal toolset and willingness to invest in tools as neededAbility to work independently and manage time effectivelyASE Certifications preferred but not required (especially A4, A5, A6)Work Schedule
Monday through Friday, with potential Saturday work depending on workload. Minimum of 40 hours per week. Candidate should expect to receive texts, emails, and phone communications from the team 7 days a week.
