Laundry Aide

Positions Summary :

A laundry aide sorts, washes, dries, folds, and irons laundry and linens for facilities like hospitals and hotels . They handle tasks such as stain treatment, machine maintenance, and ensuring items are clean and ready for use. Key responsibilities include gathering soiled laundry, distributing clean items, maintaining laundry areas, and keeping accurate records

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Sorting and processing : Gather soiled laundry from various areas, sort it by color and fabric type, and treat specific stains as needed.

Washing and drying : Operate washing and drying machines, following special instructions for delicate items, and monitor machines to ensure they are functioning correctly.

Finishing : Fold, clean laundry and linens according to facility standards.

Distribution and delivery : Distribute clean laundry and linens to designated areas or residents' rooms and keep an adequate supply of linens on hand.

Maintenance and cleaning : Clean and maintain the laundry area, and perform basic troubleshooting on laundry equipment, reporting any issues to management.

Record keeping : Maintain accurate records of linens and supplies.

Skills and qualifications :

Attention to detail : Crucial for identifying stains, following special washing instructions, and ensuring high-quality results.

Physical stamina : The ability to perform physical tasks like lifting and standing for long periods is necessary.
