Critical Care / Trauma Physician

Cross Country Locums is looking for a Critical Care Physician who can help cover 1 or 2 blocks a month in Georgia.

Open Dates : Tuesday to Monday, blocks of 7 shifts at a time, 2x a month

Desired Schedule :

7 on 7 off, or a block of 7 shifts at a time, must work Tuesday to Monday, 7a-7p with night call.

Worksite Setting :

ICU - 376 beds, 28 ICU beds

Clinical details

• Who responds to codes, EM or HM? Intensivist and HM responds to codes
• Will locums respond to codes? YES
• What procedures are required of locums? Core ICU procedures : Deep lines, Arterial lines, thoracentesis, paracentesis, etc. Day coverage- emergent bronchoscopy preferred
• What is the total census per provider during the day? 28 patients / day ICU and Step Down- 1 physician, 2 APC's- closed unit, we do provide consult service to CVICU if asked, 3-4 admits / night
• What is the total patient census covered at night? ICU AND STEP DOWN
• Is night-call required? If yes, how many calls on average are received? 1 -2 calls
• Is it an open ICU? Closed
• What subspecialty back-up is available? CT Surgery, Neuro, ID, Nephrology, ENT, Ortho, etc. Neurosurgery?

Also important to note : This provider will work the day shift and take back up call at night for the APC on duty. They will need to be available to return if needed (unlikely but possible). Additionally, they must have Pulmonary background and case logs will be required for the past 12 months
