Job Summary
We are seeking a Certified Hyperbaric Technician (CHT) to join our dynamic Hyperbaric Medicine team at Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center in Houston, TX. This critical role facilitates the safe and effective delivery of hyperbaric oxygen therapy for a diverse patient population, including individuals with chronic wounds, post-radiation complications, carbon monoxide poisoning, and more. Our advanced facility features a multiplane hyperbaric chamber capable of accommodating up to 10 patients at once, operating 24 / 7 to support urgent and scheduled treatment needs.
Key Responsibilities :
- Operate and monitor a multiplane hyperbaric chamber to simulate diving conditions.
- Collaborate with another CHT—one technician will be inside the chamber with patients while the other manages the dive externally.
- Ensure safe pressurization and depressurization procedures to prevent risks of over- or under-inflation.
- Perform 2-3 patient dives daily.
- Maintain detailed logs, conduct safety checks, and ensure equipment readiness in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Participate in on-call duty, one week every three weeks (24 / 7 availability during on-call weeks).
- Support care teams by monitoring and assessing patient treatment responses.

Principal Accountabilities :
Demonstrate proper Chamber / Clinical Operations within standard guidelines.Maintain competencies through regular refresher dives.Effectively communicate with staff and patients while maintaining necessary documentation.Train and mentor less experienced team members.Conduct maintenance, inventory, and research as needed in the department.Safely decompress all chamber occupants following approved protocols.Supervise maintenance and repairs of the hyperbaric chamber and associated equipment.Adhere to all policies and procedures to ensure safe care for patients, staff, and visitors.Promote professional growth by meeting continuing education requirements, serving as a resource and mentor for less experienced staff.Demonstrate a commitment to compassionate care and create personalized experiences for every community member.Perform other duties as assigned.
